I have a very small circle of intimate friends, mostly relatives(my hubby, parents, a couple of my in-laws), and everything I get to know they get to know in turn almost right away.

So, I guess, no, I cannot keep a secret.

As a school teacher, how should I treat witness kids?

ok, i'm going to college right now and i have about 2 years before i become a certified history high school teacher.

however, i am already beginning to do observation hours and it has got me thinking.

i will almost surely end up with dub kids in my homeroom for the flag salute or in my regular classes.

he is trying to get reinstated.

we got into a semi-heated discussion and i gave him a lot of my anti-wt viewpoints, trying to get him to think for himself.

my first post here - - wanted to give my story, too.

raised a jw, stayed in out of fear, painted myself into a corner and currently struggling to get out completely.

i know lots of people would say they don't respect someone who knows they don't want to stay but is staying for other reasons, like family & friends or whatever.

Will the janet controversy cause a WTS backlash against the Super Bowl?

i can already hear the talks where someone mentions the incident and implies that jw's shouldn't even watch such events because they run the risk of seeing something like this.

and we all know that if the wts implies something they might as well write it in stone.

The Jacksons did not grow up in a JW home. Perhaps in a religiously divided/spiritually weak/wishy-washy home type of sorts.

That's my only explanation as to the weirdness of them all. They have no real identity.

They all have the same nose pattern/surgeon, though. Gosh, so weird that buch is!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, I happen to like some of their tunes.

JW's and Unemployment benefits

the wt society is so proud in promoting the notion that all jw's are so law-abiding and how they pay all their taxes.. yet there seems to be no moral problem for them when a jehovahs witness elder can be a full-time regular pioneer and at the same time collect unemployment benefits.

and not just in the short-term but in one case the elder has been a full-time pioneer for many years, all the while collecting unemployment benefits from the government.. so if there are any active brothers or sisters reading this post, could you please explain to me how this is not dishonest, just as dishonest as not paying taxes?

why are jw's the biggest 2-faced hypocrites around?.

WOW! The question as well as the answer are both so wrong in nature!!!!!!!!! The kid has the excuse of not being mature enough to see each case individually, though.

In the Spanish congregation I attend (well, sometimes), the vast majority works, and work hard they do! Of course, you will find 1 or 2 housewives, 2 or 3 old age retirees, 1 or 2 disabled, and yes, perhaps 1 or 2 collecting unemployment benefits. And, so what?!!!!!!! The statistics aren't that far out from the regular population!!!

Generalizations and stereotypes are just not smart at all. Now, POE, you wouldn't want to contribute to your children's miseducation, now would you?!!! Please repair the damaging information you've given at once!
